La location commence au moment de la remise du véhicule entre les mains du client utilisateur désigné « le locataire » et se termine au moment de sa restitution au domicile du loueur, faite par les soins du locataire. Le locataire a la garde du véhicule dès la remise de celui-ci entre ses mains et jusqu’à la restitution complète. Il en est entièrement responsable. Il reconnaît être apte à se servir du véhicule loué.
Le véhicule, ses équipements et accessoires sont livrés en parfait état de marche et de propreté, ainsi que le locataire le reconnaît. Ce dernier s’oblige à y prendre soin, de manière à rendre le véhicule à la fin de la location en parfait état de fonctionnement et de propreté. Le véhicule loué ne peut faire l’objet d’aucune opération de transformation et de démontage.
Le locataire ne pourra employer le véhicule loué qu’à l’usage auquel il est destiné. Il ne pourra non plus l’utiliser dans les conditions et/ou dans des buts anormaux ou illégaux. Le locataire devra respecter les performances techniques du véhicule loué et les indications du fabricant sur l’utilisation dudit véhicule (mode et/ou précaution d’emploi).
Il est entendu que dès l’entrée en vigueur du présent contrat, le loueur n’encourt aucune responsabilité du fait d’accident survenu pendant la durée de la location. Le locataire bénéficie des assurances légalement obligatoires souscrites par le loueur (assurances véhicules, remorques…).
En cas de panne quelconque, le locataire devra sans tarder avertir le loueur. Il n’est en aucun cas autorisé à procéder à la réparation. Celle-ci se fera a ses frais dans les ateliers du loueur ou du fabricant. Les pièces remplacées étant facturées au tarif en vigueur.
Le véhicule loué reste la propriété exclusive du loueur, il n’est pas saisissable. Le locataire ne peut en aucun cas, le céder, le sous-louer, le prêter, le donner en gage ou en nantissement. Pendant la période de location, le locataire devra jouir de véhicule en bon père de famille et en prendre soin.
Le prix de location est payable à la livraison du véhicule. Un dépôt de garantie sera demandé suivant la valeur du véhicule. Le dépôt de garantie est remboursé ou restitué au moment de la restitution du véhicule et de tous ses accessoires. Durant la période de location, le locataire est responsable des détériorations, du vol, de la perte totale ou partielle du véhicule loué. Il doit le montant réel de la réparation ou valeur de remplacement ainsi que les frais de location pour le temps d’immobilisation ou d’absence de véhicule (hormis les cas pris en charge par une assurance obligatoire souscrite pas le loueur).
En cas de fausse déclaration sur son identité, son adresse, le locataire est passible des poursuites prévues en pareille matière.
Depuis la pénalisation directe des propriétaires de véhicules, le locataire est informé qu’il sera responsable de toutes infractions causées par le véhicule pendant la période de location.

All travel guides will tell you: renting a car in Guadeloupe is essential to fully enjoy your stay. On foot, it will be difficult to get around on an island of 1400 km2 (540 square miles), taxis are relatively expensive, and public transportation is almost non-existent.
The required documents are the same as in mainland France: a valid driver's license (a photocopy is rarely accepted) and a credit card for the security deposit. Be sure to check the minimum age and years of driving experience required in the "Details" tab of each offer.
The roads in Guadeloupe are often hilly, and the slopes can be quite steep. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid category A vehicles (such as Renault Twingo, Kia Picanto, Peugeot 108, etc.) which may not have a powerful enough engine to handle the terrain. Additionally, if you have more than two people in your group, keep in mind that you will need to transport luggage upon arrival and departure. Choosing a vehicle with a spacious trunk is advised.
Few rental companies currently offer electric vehicles in Guadeloupe, and for good reason: not all accommodations are equipped with charging stations, and there are currently only a few fast-charging stations available in parking lots or at gas stations. Therefore, it is not recommended to rent an electric vehicle in Guadeloupe at this time due to limited charging infrastructure.
The deductible is the maximum amount to be paid in the event of an at-fault accident or an accident without an identified third party. This amount is specified in the details of each offer.
