The rental of the described car is made according to the following conditions, accepted by the renter.
Under penalty of the cancellation of the insurance policy, the renter agrees not to allow the car to be driven by anyone other than himself or those approved by the car rental company, for whom he will be held responsible. The renter further agrees to use the vehicle only for his needs, to avoid participation in any competition, not to use the vehicle for unlawful purposes or the transportation of goods, not to push or tow any vehicle or trailer, not to carry passengers for hire, and not to overload the rented vehicle beyond the number of passengers allowed as stated on the car license.
The car is delivered in perfect working order and in absolutely clean condition. The odometer and its connections are sealed, and the seals must not be tampered with or broken. Otherwise, the rental will be charged at the standard rate of 200 km per day. The vehicle must be returned in the same clean condition; otherwise, the renter will be responsible for cleaning and overholding costs. The five tires are in fair condition without cuts. In case of damage to any tire for reasons other than normal wear and tear, the renter agrees to replace it immediately with a tire of the same or similar quality.
EQUIPMENT: Damage to or loss of equipment, the details of which are shown overleaf, is not covered by the insurance deposit or the insurance waiver charge and is therefore the responsibility of the renter.
Fuel is chargeable to the renter. The renter is responsible for regularly checking the oil and water levels, as well as the levels of the gearbox and rear axle. Any additions must be supported by receipts.
Normal mechanical wear and tear is the responsibility of the car rental company. Any repairs required due to abnormal wear and tear caused by neglect or misuse by the renter will be charged to the renter. Repairs may only be performed with the written approval and according to the instructions of the car rental company. All repairs must be itemized in a receipted bill, and defective parts must be presented with the invoice. The renter may not claim compensation for delays in car delivery, rental cancellation, or immobilization due to repairs during the rental period. The car rental company is not liable for accidents or damage to persons or property caused by construction defects or prior repairs.

Rental fees and deposit amounts are fixed according to the current rates and are payable in advance. The deposit cannot be used for an extension of the rental. If the renter wishes to extend the agreement, it must be done with the car rental company's consent and by paying the additional rental fee in advance. Failure to do so may result in legal action for misappropriation of the vehicle. Interest at 2% per month will be charged on unpaid balances from the due date. If recovery of unpaid amounts requires legal action, the renter will bear a 10% attorney fee.
The renter agrees not to abandon the vehicle. In the event of material impossibility, the car rental company will repatriate the vehicle at the renter's expense, with the rental fees continuing until the vehicle is returned.
Upon termination of the rental, the renter must return the car's license and other required documents. Failure to do so will result in continued rental charges until all documents are returned to the car rental company.
The renter is solely responsible for any fines, tickets, or official reports issued against them during the rental period.
All disputes between the car rental company and the renter fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Court of Mauritius. BP CAR RENTAL reserves the right to reclaim its vehicle if the renter fails to adhere to the terms and conditions.
